The first agent will be in place in two weeks. The fifth fails. Not because of the model, but because no one has decided where he belongs.
This talk draws the line. On the one hand, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio: the knowledge assistant on a data room, the process that starts in Teams and ends in a ticket, the agent that inherits the permissions of its user. Not beginner’s territory, but the right answer for a whole class of use cases.
On the other hand, Microsoft Foundry and the Azure Toolkit: the knowledge agent across multiple data rooms. The analytical question that no document answers. The agent that you deliver as part of a product. The agent that remembers yesterday tomorrow and needs its own identity.
This determines whether use cases scale or whether only the number of agents grows. If you start from scratch for each agent, you collect projects. Scaling is not a property of the agent. It is a property of the platform underneath.
