Meet Our Team: Eva Kallrath

Platform Engineer – How It All Began

My entry into IT began with a dual study program in Business Informatics, where I was able to gain hands-on experience early on. Even though the dual model was challenging at times, it gave me the opportunity to directly connect theory and practice. During this period, I mainly worked on backend topics and contributed to a range of projects. What I found particularly appealing was repeatedly familiarizing myself with new subject areas—from charging infrastructure for electric vehicles to a newspaper’s digital presence—and implementing these topics in practice through my own software solutions.

After completing my dual study program, I had the opportunity to support a project in the field of platform engineering. There, I gained my first hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, Azure, and many other technologies. This period sparked my interest in platform and cloud topics and has had a lasting impact on my professional focus.

After three and a half years of dual studies and two years of permanent employment, it was time for me to gain new experience. In April 2026, I therefore joined white duck as a Platform & Kubernetes Engineer.

A Few Details About My Work

As a platform team, we develop modern, scalable solutions for our customers based on cloud and container technologies. In doing so, we create the technical foundations that enable applications to be operated in a stable, secure, and efficient manner.

What I particularly like is that I can continuously familiarize myself with a wide variety of technologies and challenges—so it never gets boring, and I always have the opportunity to keep learning and developing further.

First Contact with white duck

After several years in Munich, I moved back to my home region in the Inn Valley last year. To also re-establish myself professionally in the area, I specifically looked for suitable positions nearby and came across white duck in the process.

The open and collegial atmosphere immediately impressed me and gave me a good feeling from the very beginning. It quickly became clear to me that not only are the technical topics exciting here, but the environment and teamwork are also a great fit.

Personal Details

In my free time, I spend a lot of time in the mountains. Whether skiing, mountain biking, climbing, or mountaineering—it helps me switch off and clear my head. The beautiful Inn Valley offers the perfect opportunities for this right on my doorstep.
