In this hands-on workshop, we will show how AI agents can be integrated into production applications – with a focus on the open source framework Flock and the Microsoft Agent Framework in AI Foundry. After a compact overview of agent architectures (Blackboard, Tools, Memory), we will demonstrate live the structure of simple agent workflows, connection of data/tools (e.g. Azure AI Search) and typical orchestration patterns. We then take a look at the Agent Framework in AI Foundry, including components, connectors, and deployment. A structured comparison of Flock vs. Microsoft (extensibility, hosting, governance, costs) shows when which approach makes sense – and how the two can be combined. Finally, we discuss deployment scenarios (RAG, automation, copilots), success factors and next steps for PoCs and pilots. The target group is developers, architects and decision-makers who want to quickly move from theory to implementable solutions.
